I’m Dr. Princess Ndow, Candidate for County Commission District 5, and I’m thrilled to be here tonight. They say in politics, it’s not the heat, it’s the humility… or was it humidity? Either way, let’s make sure we bring a little laughter along this journey!

I bring a fresh perspective and a deep respect for the unique charm and beauty of our county. I am running for the County Commission so that we come together as a community and work together to build a better Wayne County.

Campaign Message: Now I believe that this is the time to speak the truth, the whole truth frankly and boldly and a lot of unrealistic campaign promises just won’t cut it. We should expect honesty, integrity, and transparency as we work together to address the possibilities that await Wayne County’s future. We should expect more and demand more because insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Campaign Theme: My campaign is about “Expecting More” for Wayne County!

Priorities: We have pressing issues like aging infrastructure, with too many dirt roads. We need more resurfacing, paving, and other improvements. We need to encourage local cultivation of new crops and other agricultural opportunities. Let’s not forget to support continued improvements and promotion of all kinds of transportation access. Educators, law enforcement, housing projects, education, and medical personnel are all priorities for our county. More local entertainment options for area youths and young families are urgent priorities. What about our small businesses? They are really the backbone that drives our economy. All of these priorities remind us that progress is long overdue in Wayne County.

Call for Action: Fortunately, we have the opportunity to set new standards by EXPECTING MORE and gracefully demanding more from our public servants.

Campaign Strategy: Let us create MORE opportunities for community involvement: I’ll establish grassroots groups to ensure everyone’s voice is heard in our county’s narrative and decision-making processes. Let’s Expect More Innovative communications from our elected officials. I’ll use unique avenues to keep you informed and involved in county affairs regularly. I’ll host coffee with the commission and share social media updates. Together, we will ensure that your voices are not only heard but actively incorporated into the policies that shape our county. Let us Expect More implementation from our joint strategic plan for Wayne County.

Conclusion: Paving the way for better infrastructure isn’t just about smoother rides (though that is cool too). In Wayne County, we have incredible potential waiting to be unleashed. Expect more from your county commissioner. Expect more from your local government. Expect more from our county. You see when you expect more, you demand more, you push harder, you raise the bar, you involve more, you question more, and seek more answers and more intentional action which will yield more results.

Fellow citizens of Wayne County, let’s “Expect More” for our families, ensuring they have safe roads and vibrant communities by investing in small businesses, education, recreational facilities, law enforcement, housing, medical facilities, and transportation. We deserve to “Expect More” from our leaders, with honesty, integrity, and transparency guiding every decision. I can identify with several of you, Christian, widow (lost my husband at a very early age), single parent, retirees, veteran educator, challenges of grad school, adoptive parent of 3 children, writer, pastor, offering selfless service whenever I could and spearheading a charity. We are all for inclusiveness! Let us collaborate together and foster an environment that promotes innovation, attracts investment, and ensures sustainable economic growth for Wayne County.
